Advance Reader Copies – $50 setup plus the cost of printing and shipping.
Sometimes known as 'advance review copies' ARCs are just that - copies of your book printed and distributed prior to publication to reviewers and other insiders to give them the opportunity to review and comment on your book before it's finalized.
Reviews and recommendations on the back cover of your book are strong incentives to buy. Plus, ARCs lend a more professional air to your review copies than just printing the manuscript at home and binding it at Kinko's. And since they are produced without ISBN or bar code info, they aren't likely to wind up for sale at used bookstores without your consent.

Good quality stock branded with your book's cover, description and technical information will make a good impression on media and retail contacts, and will help brand you as 'Author of' your book.
Hardcover Dustjackets – $75 for a set of 25.
If you're publishing a hardcover version of your book, extra dustjackets are available. A dustjacket, without the book, is often sent along with a sell sheet about your book to stores and other outlets. Bookbuyers are used to it - many distributors salesmen carry dustjackets only - and it saves you the cost of printing and mailing copies of your hardcover book if you're contacting a lot of buyers.
Sell Sheet – $25
A sell sheet is a single-page flyer with a description of your book, the cover image, a short paragraph about you, plus the ISBN, price and other technical information that a book buyer needs to find and order your book. This would go to a store with a copy of the book or a dustjacket.
Press Release – $250
A sharply crafted press release, properly placed, spreads the word, leaves a profesional impression, and motivates buyers and reviewers to take a look at your book. Your release will be placed on-line through wide-distribution wire services that reach thousands of people. Unlike email spam campaigns, press wire services are subscribed to by millions of individuals and businesses looking for topics, books and interviews to be used in print, radio, television and internet media. There is no lower-cost way to get the word out to those who will actually read and notice your book.
Review Submission Service – $500
Combining the strengths of advance reader copies with a press release, this package is the best way to get your book in front of people who will notice it, review it, and write about it or call you for an interview. These submissions have the added professional advantage that they arrive on WingSpan Press letterhead, direct from the publisher, individually addressed and packaged.
We'll print 6 copies of your book and send 2 copies to Midwest Book Review, the nation's premier reviewer of self-published books, plus copies to 4 other media outlets of your choice. Your best bets are outlets close to you, or ones specializing in your book's niche. Regional and local TV, radio, magazine and newspaper editors are always on the lookout for new local-interest material, and a professional package from the publisher, including your contact information, directed at them individually, is the best way to get reviews, articles and interviews that sell books.
In addition, we'll submit your press release to internet wire services for added exposure.
The added bonuses to this service are
- Your press release can be used elsewhere as you need it.
- Your book is already set up for Advance Reader Copies. You can buy as many as you want.
